Terroir of the Mons Albus winery

The terroir of Mons Albus is a synergy of land, sun, wind and the painstaking work of a team filled with enthusiasm and love for their work. The region has a rich wine heritage: back in the 60s of the last century, the Belogorsk winery was located here, specializing in the production of light white wines and cognac products. Today, our goal is to confirm and increase the potential of this land in the production of high-quality wines.
Mons Albus is located in the foothills of Crimea, where unique climatic and soil conditions create an ideal terroir for growing grapes. The moderate continental climate of the region, combining mildness and dryness, ensures slow and uniform ripening of grapes, developing their aromatic and flavor properties. The soils of the Belogorsk region are a complex composition of carbonate chernozems and light clay layers on deluvial deposits, which creates extreme conditions for the vines and gives our wines a unique taste and character.
The unique properties of the soil and climate conditions allow the vines to develop optimally, receiving the necessary minerals and elements. This affects the richness of taste, depth of aroma and overall harmony of all wine varieties. The richness of the flora and fauna of the region contributes to the natural biological balance, which minimizes the need for chemical plant protection products and fertilizers. This allows us to create wines that reflect the natural characteristics of the terroir as much as possible.
Each grape variety grown in our vineyards absorbs the unique characteristics of the area, which is reflected in the final product - Mons Albus wine.
